About Us

A Professional Counselor With Over 45 Years of Experience

Ms. Arlett Pollock-Evans is an Advanced Practice Nurse/Psych Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (APRN-CNS), with prescriptive authority. She has over 45 years of experience in mental health and is the owner of Creative Counseling Solutions.

She has practiced in Lima for more than 40 years, both in private practice and formerly at Lima Memorial Hospital, where she was a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Counselor, Psychosocial Educator, Professional Speaker, Trainer, and Consultant.

Arlett is a state-appointed Board Member of Mental Health and Recovery Services of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties. In addition to her work at Lima Memorial Hospital, other past professional positions include Staff/Charge Nurse, Assistant Head Nurse (ER) University Hospital of Cleveland; Head Nurse (Chest/Abdomen Admitting Area) Los Angeles County U.S.C. Medical Center; Nurse Specialist – Counseling, Psychosocial Educator, Researcher, Patient Education Writer, Public Relations Spokesperson for Nursing, and Coordinator/Chairperson for Numerous Major Events from 1971 – 1980 at U.S.C. Medical Center; Counselor/Advance Practice Clinical Nurse Specialist in Counseling, Trainer, Consultant, and Professional Speaker with Comprehensive Mental Health Associates (formerly Comprehensive Psychological Services, Inc. and Comprehensive Psychological Interventions, Inc.) of Lima; and Health Education Speaker with Merck & Co, Inc.

Her educational background includes B.S.N. (with minors in Psychology and Sociology) from Case Western Reserve University; advanced level workshops at U.C.L.A. and U.S.C.; M.S. in Counseling from University of Dayton; and training with Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.

Arlett is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Supervising Counselor, a Nationally Certified Bereavement Facilitator, “I Can Cope” and “Kids Can Cope” American Cancer Society Facilitator, and Ohio Department of Health trained AIDS/HIV counselor.

She has facilitated numerous support groups and speaks publicly on a wide variety of topics. Arlett initiated the “PAWS” pet therapy program at Lima Memorial Hospital, which received international and national recognition and the Ohio Hospital Association “Vision” Award for Most Innovative Volunteer Program.

Arlett has received a number of national and local honors, including Who’s Who In Nursing (1987-present), Lima Soroptimist Woman of the Year Award (1994); Lima-Alco Sertoma “Service to Mankind” Award (Local Winner, District Winner) (1996); and Lincolnview High School Academic Hall of Fame, among others not listed.

Arlett and her husband, Dan, who is a retired elementary educator, have resided in Lima for more than 40 years.

They have a son, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters, Ruby Magnolia and Maria Josephine. They are also “parents” to a therapy dog named Parker who frequents the office.
